Milan
Designs has developed a solid process for delivering sound solutions
to its customers. This process was developed by the Founder of Milan
Designs, based on vast experience with web design and print design
projects. Here is just a general overview of the process:
Define
The
very first step of the process is initiated through a discovery
phase with the customer. This is done via one-to-one consultation
with the customer. During this consultation, Milan Designs strives
to determine the customer's wants and needs. Information that is
gathered includes (but is not limited to): audience, scope, size
of site, imagery, functionality, etc.
Design
Once
the customer's requirements have been defined, Milan Designs evalutes
the information and determines the direction of the project. A written
proposal, complete with potential solutions and associated site
maps, comp graphics, and pricing, is presented to the customer.
The customer may review the proposal and either 1) accept, 2) request
changes or 3) reject.
Develop
Once
the proposal has been accepted by the customer and 50% of the costs
have been paid, development will begin. All aspects of the site,
design, HTML, multimedia, forms and any other elements, will be
worked on and completed during this phase. When development is completed
the site will be posted for customer viewing.
Test
When
the completed site is posted on a secure section of our site, Milan
Designs will contact the customer with the location and password
to access the prototype for testing. The customer go through all
pages and links to make sure everything is working to their specifications.
Any changes should be noted and forwarded to the project coordinator.
Milan Designs will happily make any changes deemed to be reasonable.
Typically complex or involved changes will incur additional fees.
Also any changes requested that are not due to Milan Designs error
may also incur additional fees depending on the enormity. However,
Milan Designs is confident that due to upfront work done to get
a handle on customer requirements prior to development greatly reduces
the amount of changes during this phase.
Deliver
All
customer, upon completed of testing and rework, must approve the
prototype in writing (Milan Designs will provide the acceptance
form). When approval is recieved, in addition to payment of the
remaining balance of charges, Milan Designs will deliver all HTML,
images, source files, etc. to our customer via FTP, zip files (email)
or Iomega Zip Disk. We hope to be able to provide sites on CDs in
the near future.
Maintain
The
site is up! Now what? Well a successful site is one that is up-to-date
and well maintained. You can't just post a site and let it sit there
gathering dust. Milan Designs can help you maintain the freshness
of your site through content updates, occassional graphic changes,
etc. Although maintanance is not a part of the main design contracts,
Milan Designs does offer maintenance service at either $20/hour
or in blocks of time. Please contact
